Domains

Every address in your account in one list: your websites' free addresses, your own domains, and your email domains.

Open Settings → Domains.

Each row shows the domain, what it's connected to (a website or email) and its status: Free address, Connected, or Action required when a DNS record is still missing.

#Free addresses

Every website has a free address like acme-coaching.sandboxm.website. To change its name, use Manage, or ask the assistant: "Move my website Acme Coaching to the address acme". The free address keeps working even when the website is on your own domain.

#Putting a website on your own domain

1. + Connect a Domain, choose the website, and type your domain, like www.yourbusiness.com.
2. Add the record shown at your domain provider: a CNAME for a subdomain like www, or an A record for the bare domain. On Cloudflare, set it to DNS only.
3. Once the record is seen, the website answers at your domain with its own certificate (https), usually within minutes.

#Buying a domain

Don't have a domain yet? Buy one here, and it's set up for you, with no DNS records to copy.

1. Click Buy a Domain and search for a name, like brightstudio. You see it on the usual endings (.com, .net, .org, .co, .io, .us), each with its price for a year.
2. Pick a free one. Choose the website it should show and, if you like, turn on Send email from mg.yourdomain.
3. Check the registration details. Domain rules require a name, address, phone and email; they start from My business and are hidden by WHOIS privacy.
4. Click Buy. The domain is registered in your name, your website answers on www. within the hour (the bare domain sends visitors there), and email from mg. is ready to verify under Email services.

• Bought here lists your domains with their renewal date. Change the website they show, or turn email on or off; the DNS is updated for you.
• Premium names and very expensive endings aren't offered, and there's a yearly limit per account.
• The assistant can look for you: "Find me a domain for brightstudio". You buy it yourself, since it costs money.
