Your business
Usage and limits
What your account used this month (texts, calls, Voice AI, AI and emails), and the monthly limits that keep a mistake from running up a bill.
Usage
Open Settings → Usage.
- 1Each limit and how much of this month's is used.
- 2At 80% you're told; at the limit only that kind of use pauses until the 1st.
- 3What you used in each of the last months.
- Monthly limits: texts (in segments), Voice AI minutes and AI use, each with a bar showing how much of this month's is used.
- By month: what you used in each of the last few months: texts sent and received, call minutes, Voice AI minutes, AI use, emails from our shared address and from your dedicated domain, and numbers from us.
You can also ask the assistant: "What have I used this month?"
What counts
- Texts are counted in segments, the way phone carriers count them: up to 160 plain characters is one, a longer text is one per 153 characters. An emoji or other special characters make it one per 70 (67 when split).
- Calls: minutes of calls that were answered, rounded up per call.
- Voice AI: minutes of each call the agent answered, rounded up per call.
- AI use is counted in tokens (pieces of words) for everything the AI does for you: the assistant, building websites, Brand Brain, content, campaign drafts, the dashboard and Voice AI.
- Your own Twilio or Mailgun: texts, calls and emails through your own accounts aren't counted and have no limit from us: you pay those providers yourself. Voice AI minutes and AI use still count, as the AI is ours.
When you reach a limit
At 80% of a limit, a note appears at the top of the app and in Usage. At the limit, only that kind of use pauses until the 1st of next month, with a message saying so; nothing is lost:
- Texts aren't sent (the inbox, automations and the Voice AI's texts say so);
- Voice AI stops answering: missed calls go to your voicemail instead;
- AI: the assistant, builder and other AI features say the limit is reached.
